Fair Deal
We sell puzzles, not ads. Here is exactly how Endless picks your pieces.
Every tray is checked before you see it.
Before the game deals three pieces, it tries every order and every spot to make sure all three can be placed. If they can't, it puts that tray back and draws another, up to 9 times.
When nothing fits.
If 9 trays in a row can't all be placed, there is no playable tray to give, so the game deals the last one it drew. That happens only on a crowded board, and it is usually how a run ends.
How much help you get depends only on this run.
Each deal draws 3 trays, keeps the ones that fit, and picks one by how many lines you have cleared:
- Your first 20 lines: the most helpful tray.
- From 20 lines: one from the middle.
- From 100 lines: the least helpful. It still fits.
The most helpful tray is the one that can clear the most lines and leave the board emptiest.
Board clears.
When the board is fairly empty and up to three pieces could clear it completely, the game builds you a tray with those pieces. Before you get it, the game plays it out to make sure the board really can be cleared, and it still has to fit like any other tray. Finding the clearing order is up to you.
When no tray can clear it in one go, the game sometimes deals the first half of a two-tray clear instead: pieces that fill some of the gaps. Put them where they fit and the next tray can finish the clear. Play them somewhere else and nothing is held back; the next tray is dealt the usual way.
Fairly empty means 24 or fewer of the 64 cells are filled.
Three smaller nudges.
- Shapes that fit your board well, especially ones that could clear lines, come up more often.
- As the board fills past 35%, small pieces come up more often.
- A shape you haven't seen for a while comes up sooner.
All three look only at the board and the pieces dealt this run.
What the game never looks at.
- Your high score
- Your past runs
- Subscription or trial
- Your device
- Your country
- Your language
- Time of day
Dealing never reads any of these. Every player at the same point in a run is dealt by the same rules. Scoring works the same way for everyone too.
When these numbers change. We may tune the numbers on this page for everyone at once. The numbers in cyan are the shipped defaults; the Fair Deal page in the app (Settings › Help › Fair Deal) always shows the ones in use right now.
Where this applies. Endless only. Campaign levels are designed by hand, and everyone plays the same Daily Challenge.
